Turkish firm brings new white garden stones to area

Egestones, a retail and wholesale garden-stone business specializing in white river stones of all sizes, recently introduced to the Boston area pure white tumbled stones for all indoor and outdoor landscape uses.
“My goal is to bring my customers the most unique, beautiful and natural stones from across the world,” said Nilufer Dundar of Marblehead, founder and president of Egestones. “I am so happy to be able to introduce New England to these milk river stones from my part of the world.”
Based on the response from the two Boston-area home shows in which Egestones just participated, this new garden product is destined to be a huge success, according to Dundar.
“These white stones are completely different than anything this area has seen, and everyone continually asked where they could purchase them. It was very exciting,” Dundar said after the Boston Home Show at the Bay Side Expo Center.
At the Shriners Home Show, attendees were lined up three rows deep just to touch the smooth, exceptionally white milky stones, Dundar added.
Dundar has been in the stone-and-marble business for 10 years in Turkey before opening a store in the Boston area this past summer.
After thoroughly researching the garden-stone market in the U.S., Dundar concluded that pure, natural-white stones were an alternative that this area had not had available until now.
